Thomas Vanderwal  has done  a wonderful post explaining the need for granularity in Social network creation.

 I swear that man has clearly explained (in a way I could not) several of the topics I have been talking about for the past 3 yrs.

Please play close attention to the issues of

• Multiple personas
• tagging creating a singular niche
• Issues of unbalanced reciprocation 

 I think much can be resolved by letting tagsonomies evolve around different cultures (ie installations of FOSSN) and giving those cultures the power to determine their means of exchanging information.
